Safety Plan


  1. League Safety Officer:  John Parpart on file with Little League Headquarters.


  1. Parrish Little League will distribute a paper copy of the Safety Manual to all managers, board members, and the District Administrator.  It will be posted in the concession stand as well as the bulletin board at the field.

  1. Parrish Little League uses the 2018 Official Little League Volunteer Application form for screening volunteers.


5. Fundamental Training will take place (TBD).

  1. At least one manager/coach from must attend this training.  If unable to attend this date, they must produce proof of attending another local league’s training.

  2. Training will take place at Holland Youth Park, home of Parrish Little League.


6. First Aid Training will take place (TBD).

  1. Parrish Little League requires that at least one manager/coach from each team attend this training.  This training will be conducted by Tim Halfman at Holland Youth Park, home of Parrish Little League.


7. Manager or coaches will be required to walk/inspect the field prior to use whether for practice or game.  Umpires will also be required to walk the fields for hazards before each game.


8. Parrish Little League completed our 2018 Facility Survey on-line by February 1, 2018.


9. Concession Stand Safety

  1. Menu items shall be posted and approved by the safety officer and concession committee.

  2. Concession safety procedures will be posted in several areas of the stand.

  3. Concessionaires will bring and safety concerns to the safety officer and board of Parrish Little League.

  4. Attached is a copy of the safety procedures for Parrish Little League.


10. Equipment & Field Inspection

  1. The League Safety Officer will work with the Equipment Manager(s) to inspect all equipment pre-season.

  • Managers/coaches will inspect equipment and walk the fields prior to the start of each game.

  • Umpires will inspect equipment and walk the fields prior to the start of the game.

  1. Equipment Managers, manager/coaches, or umpires will bring and safety concerns to the board for action.


11. Accident Reporting

  1. Parrish Little League will use the provided incident tracking form from the Little League Website.

  2. Parrish Little League will provide completed accident forms to the Safety Officer within 48 hours of the incident.  

  3. Attached is a copy of the reporting form.

  4. Parrish Little League will track “near-misses” to evaluate practices and avoid future injuries.


12. Safety Kits

  1. An updated Safety Kit will be provided for each team to have at every practice and game.

  2. Kits needing replacement equipment – manager or coach must contact the Safety Officer to request supplies (unless manager/coach replace on own).


13. Little League Rules and Park Rules

  1. Parrish Little League requires ALL TEAMS to enforce ALL LITTLE LEAGUE Rules.

  2. Parrish Little League requires ALL TEAMS to enforce Holland Park Rules as outlined in the Parent Handbook.


  14.  Roster, Manager and Coach Data

  1. Roster, Manager and coach Data will be registered with Little League International via the Little League Data Center.
